About Me

My photo
Saige GriffisWest
My name is Saige GriffisWest. I am a Colorado native with a college degree in wildlife, and I am the owner and operator of Wild Goose Chase Taxidermy Studio, LLC. From early 2017 to the end of 2020, I worked at Dan French Taxidermy near Fort Collins, Colorado. During my time spent there, I became knowledgeable in the art of taxidermy and was in charge of managing and developing the skull cleaning department. Working at a taxidermy shop allowed me to gain an even deeper respect for wildlife and the beauty and science of nature, and taught me that even death can have beauty in its own way. I have always been fascinated with wildlife and took an interest in birds and outdoor recreation at an early age. I have taught myself how to skin, prepare, and mount gamebirds and waterfowl, as well as mammals and how to paint realistic fish reproductions. I am an artist and naturalist who is passionate about the conservation and restoration of our country's remaining wild places, and hunting can be a key aspect to both!
